HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was electrocuted while cutting down a tree in northwest Harris County on Wednesday morning, according to deputies.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said on social media the 45-year-old man was shocked while working in the 13500 block of Cahill Drive.
Pct. 4 said preliminary reports indicate a tree branch may have hit the power line, leading to the electrocution. The man was taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries, deputies said.
Officials confirmed the man worked for a tree service company.
Precinct 4 says there is no additional information at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing.
